She finally lost her battle with Cancer.

Pat cut from the 1984 family reunion photo.
A Mother of 7 -set of twin boys, a Nurse for many years, and Free Spirit. I remember as a child when we saw each other, that she always had a hug or something special to say to me. Even tho it was briefly, it was the much needed acknowledgement I craved. She included me and treated me just as though I was one of her own. If I needed a scolding or a hug,,she gave it. She treated me more as an adult since there is 11 years difference in our ages. Her home was bright and busy. It seemed big and full of neat places to play hide N seek. And I often helped her by playing with her children and getting them distracted so My mother & Pat could spend time together without interuptions. Both were nurses and would spend hours talking about their experiences.
Pat had a hard life with little luxuries in the beginning, but she never gave up her dreams and worked very hard to make life easier for those around her. With her G/father Simpsons sense of humor and her mothers quick temper she overcame many hardships and battles in life. Given only a couple years to live with the diagnois of Cancer, she made the necessary moves, underwent treatments and proved that she was strong enough to beat the odds handed down to her. It made her a stronger more determined person who refused to settle for what was handed her.. she chose what she wanted and generally achieved her goals.
