"Joe" Albert Joseph Hasty- Born: Dec 8, 1936 at Manito, Tazwell Co. Illinois, LKA : living in Florida
Wife's name: Barb One adopted son: Christopher Hasty ( # 7 hasty's son)
Joe was a rowdy teen age boy and went into theAir Force as soon as he was old enough. His Older Brother Orville often had to help him out of "tight situations". I guess Orville was getting tired of doing the fighting for his "little Brother" as the story is told that one of the last fights the boys got into...Orville picked Joe up and shoved him back into the midst of a argument and told him to hold his own..then walked away. "Teach him to start a fight then walk out in the middle of it"... If you knew the Fighting Hasty's you would enjoy the situation much more than just reading about it. All though the brothers fought between themselves, no one else better pick on either one as they stood together against those who dared to try it.
Joe was the "brains" in the family. Always got excellent grades and hardly worked at it. Partial or total recall? We all wondered about it. I met Joe when I was getting out of Naval boot camp in Maryland. He was working as an Honor Guard at the Unknown Soldiers Tomb in 1960/61. He just couldn't believe a "girl" in the family could make it in the Service..esp the Navy. We spent a good 4 hours visiting and remembering stories from the family. I have never felt closer to him as I did then...
I love it when I make contact!! Thanks for the invite to visit you, but didn't get close enough in my travels to your neck of the woods when I was in Fl visiting DD#1 this last Christmas- 2006. Just good to hear that you are all well and still adding to the Hasty Family Tree.
This was taken at Joe's home in Florida back in the mid to late 60's when Patsy & Lyida went down there to visit family and Friends. Joe in his "housedress" for Florian Living..esp the can in hand.
I found this old photo recently tucked in amongst others in Mom's bible. 11-05
