Mary Alice Hasty- Born: Sept 29, 1918 at Guide Rock, Webster Co. Nebraska Died: Dec. 22, 1991 Pekin, Tazwell Co. Illinois

A warm loving woman & mother of 7. I spent many summer vacations at her home in and around Spring Lake at Manito, Ill. Tho never completing High School, she instilled the importance of music, dance and academic achievement in all her children, Nieces and Nephews. There was always a warm welcome and cup of coffee for all visitors to her home.

She is the reason I am putting all the Family info and genealogy searches here for everyone to see. Her research and copies of her records took me along the path of searching for my Roots.

Children: Charles- Earl- Dean- David- Shirley- Sandra- Jim.

Forward:

"Having been interested in my family & their families and where we might have originated, I started this history in the year of 1976-77 and I am going to continue until my death."

I'll leave it to my family so that they may bring it up to date and add to it and give it to any family member who is interested in knowing of the past.

With the help of two of my sisters, Freida Mickens (deceased now) and Dorothy Buesking and the interest of several cousins, Eddie Thompson of Mackinaw, Ill. (grand-daughter of Uncle Squires Hasty), I was able to obtain my information.

As I did not know my father's family it was very hard to find or know where to start looking for the information. I also had help from Kip or Clifton Hasty of Mackinaw, Illinois, a cousin of my father (Charles Edward Hasty). This also will include our Mother's Family and some of their families, the Luther William Simpson and Mary Emmajane (whitmore) Simpson originating in Nebraska, Kansas and Illinois.

Dean was the wizard of making the rest of us laugh.   Always a wink or a smile on his face.

*Married to Virginia who passed in Aug 26, 2003 with Cancer.   # children: 2 girls and 1 boy, Rick

 

Tragedy occurred just recently for this Cousin when His son, Rick was killed in an accident on Nov 24, 2004 during a heavy snow storm.   I Put up the news clip and Obit..  ** Updated** G/daughter died in a car accident May 9, 2006..

    

 My heart is aching and I mourn with the family as yet another decendant's  Death was heard on the radio and in Peoria Journal star..

Grand daughter of David's,,daughter of Eric's was killed in an auto accident May 9, 2006 on the Manito Blacktop.   Paige Lawson.  Hope to have more detail later with the article from Newspaper.     Radio said she was a passenger in the car that was hit by a tractor... driver & Paige were on their way to work  in Pekin.   

  

 

The rowdy younger brother who was always trying to do everything his older siblings did.   Most of the time he succeeded but it cost him alot of bruises and cuts.

I recently had contact with a daughter of Sandra's..along with photos.  So I'll try to get them here, with the "daughter's" permission.

 This is Sandra with her 3 children, hubby and grandson. : L to R - Steven Harris, Spencer Harris, Sandra (lawson) Harris holding Ardan Clark, Sundi Clark, Megan Sybrant.

  This is a portrait sent to me by Sandra's daughter.     one of the last of them taken together before Rassie's death.  (believe it was 1979, but will have to recheck the dates)
