At the time I created this site, These were my thoughts...
At 78 she remains alert and taking care of business. Photos to follow. Well all the ones I have of her thru the years. Even quit smoking 2 years ago...this is the last time you will see a cigarette in her hand!!!
I finally narrowed down the amount of Photo's for here and tried to highlight the changes and times in her life. Keep looking and enjoy!!

Taken in 1940 Lyida, age 16.
Met and married Raymond Williams..Photo taken right after they were married. I was already 2 years old. After 2 miscarriages Curtis Augusta Williams was born on Sept 18, 1950.
She raised Bobby Gibson #9 hasty's son til he was 3 years old. Always had her shoes off, too!! (check the rest of her photos) This was a house we lived in at SpringLake Bottom, near Manito. Never did get those back steps fixed.
Life was very bad with Raymondin the late 1940's, early 1950's and many days we only had one meal a day. If it weren't for family and friends I'm sure we would not have eaten at all. She left Raymond in 1952 and Married Leonard Stout, Kilbourne Ill. (died: 2003 Congestive heart failure)
Photo from 1952 at the Stout Farm, Kilbourne, Mason Co. Illinois. Gus is 2 yrs old, I am 10 and Mom is still thin as a rail. She was finally getting her teeth taken care of , eating 3 meals a day, and not working at anything that would bring in extra money or food.
The Stout Years

1956 at the Stout Farm, Kilbourne, Betty Lou #13 Hasty's first born, Toni. As you can see, the 3 meals a day and teeth taken care of are working miracles.
Here we are at G/ma Allie Johnson's in Havana, sharing Betty Lou's news of being pregnant,,and getting the "rub" about eating for two. Lyida is handing her the whole bowl of food, while Charles Jr #1 Hasty's son, Me (Judy) and G/ma look on. The house sat where the current Public pool is now in Havana.
I forgot who caught this fish,,but it is called a Spoon Bill, Catfish family. And Mom had to hold it for pictures, I believe it weight around 60 lbs. At the Stout Farm in 1959
Taken around 1960 in the front yard at the Stout Farm, Kilbourne, Lyida with her Black Cat, Blackie. Old barn and chicken house in the background. That truck taught me how to drive a stick shift. There is a dirt road between Lyida and the truck that leads down to the bottom where a creek and then all the farm ground (300+ acres) lay. Spent lots of time exploring it all with the many cousins who came to work summers at the farm.

The Lester Downing Years
After losing Gus in an auto accident, and my leaving home to start my own life & family. Times with Leonard were too much to bare and they were divorced... She then met Lester Downing, a coal miner and supervisor at the Mines in Peoria & Danville. Once again Lyida's life turned around for the better.
Nothing like Ice Cream & Cake to Celebrate another Birthday.
Spending time with Frieda and baking all that bread.

Memorial and Obit
Mom passed: Feb 1, 2005 at Menard Nursing Home in Petersburg, Illinois at age 80
following a CVA (stroke) on Dec 28, 2004. I was there with her and her sister Dorothy had visited during the day. Hospice care gave her the dignity and comfort as we celebrated Her life during her last 2 weeks of life.

Sharon R. Bissett Aug 21, 1963: 2 sons: Thomas 1990 and Adam 1995
Randall J. Bissett Sept 23, 1964: 1 girl: Beth Ann 1989 and 1 boy, Mathew J. 2002
Elizabeth F. Bissett (Krietemeyer) Nov 3 1967: No children
