Wayne Edward Hasty: Speedy Wayne as some people call him after his love of fast cars & racing
Born: April 13, 1926 in Fairbury,,Nebraska. Living in California with "the girl next door", Betty. Has 2 grown Daughters, Deborah(back) & Katie (front)...more on them further down.
Wayne retired from the Navy and loved working on cars...the faster the better. He had a set routinue in his house for work, play and exercise. He made exercise FUN!! Right after Supper each evening it was a rowdy game of Volleyball, baseball, bike riding or jogging. And it had to last at least an hour.
Wayne was the tallest of the Hasty Brothers at 6'4" and loved to "look down" on his older brothers. He had a line of "Blarney" that kept alot of fights from starting or would cause a few. He would fearlessly step in between his mother's swing of the old broom handle and sibling,,catch her up in a bear hug & dance her around the room while singing an Irish Tune. His other favorite trick was to untie her apron when she had her hands full and couldn't catch it from dropping to the floor. It was always the funny unexpected stuff he pulled on everyone that kept us "cousins" laughing and joining in the fun,,instead of getting scared and running... but all of it was just games.. "Grandma's got the broom, everyone run!" started the whole uproar and party.
Wayne Edward Hasty in 1975 with Christopher (Joe's adopted son) At Manito Ill. Just after the Matriarch of the family past away. She is in the picture on the wall. A hand painted portrait done 3 years prior to her death. The Love seat was a rocker and one Of the favorite seats in the house. The sons are there to settle the estate left by Allie.
Wayne married Betty Rose right after going into the Navy which he made a carreer of both. (Just my way of saying that Wayne & Betty are still together and living in California.) They have 2 daughters, Deborah and Katie.
