Arthur Merle Lynes went home to his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday, March 10, 2008.
He was the fifth of nine living children of Ezra (Ed) Lynes and Leefa May Simpson Lynes. Merle was born on March 21, 1919, in Guide Rock, Neb. He married the love of his life, Elsie M. Hines, on Aug. 27, 1941. They were married 50 years and had four children, Gary (Nan) Lynes of Kirkland, Wash., Gordon (LaPreal) Lynes of Burley, Gerald (Kathy) Lynes of Boise and Merla (Kelly) Lloyd of Boise. He has one surviving brother, Paul (Betty) Lynes of Denver, Colo.
During his life, he was a rancher (he loved working with the horses), farmer (working with his father-in-law on his farm), mechanic (there was not a car he could not fix) and salesman (for Western Auto and Bill Jones Automotive). Dad loved his children, grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He always made time to help with some project. His military service in World War II included time in Calcutta, India, calibrating airplane instruments. His patriotism and love of country were not just words to him. He gave many years of service to the Veterans of Foreign Wars. His service included quartermaster and serving at funerals.
This quiet man with fundamental values offered his time and skills to whomever needed it or asked. It was important to him that things be done correctly and done well. He was always busy helping someone with a project. This was when he was his happiest. He had a great sense of humor that made everyone smile.

April 1 - regular ol Tuesday here..

Just to let ya see I've been scrapping a few pages, Yes you have seen some of these photos already.. but these will let ya look at them AGAIN and in a different way.. enjoy. New photos..and pageI added new photos around the place.. You can gather most of them by looking at the last page in the Pictures only section on the left of the Home page. Mostly some I recieved of Gram from 1974 & 1975 sent to me by a Cousin. And there are current photos from the visitation / funeral Dorothy this past Feb. 2008 While here I added some more scrapbook pages in that section.. While trying out a new feature offered here, I wasn't happy with the Newest page for photos/albums, I left it up since you can leave comments and enlarge each image. It's at the very bottom of the list on the home page (Left colum-Photographs) Some have the dreaded red X.. but That has to be MY fault since I was not used to resizing when I first set up this site..4 years ago.. and since I no longer have those images on my computer I can't "fix" them. I will be playing with that New Feature and see If I can get the "X" fixed and add more scrapbook pages.
